I am Roshan, studying in 9th grade, My mother in spite of all her hard work and struggle, found it very hard to educate me. It was at the right time that Starlight home came to our rescue. I feel safe and secure and feel great of belonging to such a loving family. I enjoy playing with my friends and having lots of fun. My aim is to become a mechanical engineer. I put all the effort to study well because I believe that it is only education that can liberate people. I am very grateful to Starlight family and each and every one who contribute to my growth. In the future I will also volunteer to help other people in need.
Life is learning about everything around us. Thanks to Starlight home for teaching me many values for life. I am Melvina, studying in 6th grade. Being in the home I have learned to relate in a friendly way with everyone and help everyone in their need. The home creates a good atmosphere for me to grow in a mature way and to become a good citizen of the country. We have a regular prayer together where I realize that I need to be very grateful for every blessing that comes on my way. I am healthy because I get very good nutritious food in the home. I enjoy the good environment where we are free to move and play. I have a desire to become a doctor and I am sure with the support of Starlight my dream will come true one day.
My name is Leema Roslin, I am 14 years old and I am studying 9th grade. I am very happy to be part of Starlight family that provides everything for me and takes care of my every need. I am able to discover many of my talents through their constant support and accompaniment. My goal is to become a teacher and my hobby is drawing and reading books. Starlight home creates ample opportunities through its leadership training programmes to develop my talents. I feel that I am most privileged whereas many of the children of my age do not have this opportunity. God is so good to me and blessed me with good people around me. As I am blessed indeed I will be a blessing to help many deserving children to reach their dreams.
I am S.Francis Xavier, a professional Social Worker. I am very happy that God is using me as an instrument to be part of starlight family. I see to the overall growth of the children by conducting various training programmes, organising trainings and seminars where children can take part and discover their talents and gifts. Regular gatherings, cultural events, common celebrations etc. make children to be more united and build up strong relationship with one another. It is nice to be with little ones and help them in their vulnerability. At time we face many challenges; financial crisis to meet the day today needs our children. But God of abundance comes to our aid as we always find some generous people who support us out of their blessings. I have a dream that all our children should live a dignified life and and grow in to whatever God want them to be.
I am Sr.Susanna in-charge of Starlight Home. I take great joy in working for these children because they are in need of someone to help and lead them in the right path. The children come to us from different cultural backgrounds and economic conditions. We can categorise them as orphans, semi orphans, children with disability etc. Once they are part of Starlight Home their entire life gets transformed. They begin to identify themselves as someone important in the society, identify their rights as children, discover their talents and contribute their best to help each other. We get very good and committed volunteers who render their selfless service without counting the cost. My great happiness is to see our young children blossom and make progress every year and together we continue our path to accompany them in all the ways we can.
